Is a signature by email or online legally valid?
BuiltSign places a simple electronic signature (SES) under eIDAS and records the signing process with verification data, timestamps and a document hash. Such a signature may not be denied legal effect or admissibility as evidence solely because it is electronic, and under Dutch law it can have the same legal effect as a handwritten signature if the method is sufficiently reliable for the purpose and circumstances. Documents that legally require a notarial deed, such as real estate transfers, still require a notary.
Frequently asked questions about digital signing

Under the European eIDAS regulation an electronic signature may not be denied legal effect or admissibility as evidence solely because it is electronic, and under article 3:15a of the Dutch Civil Code it can have the same legal effect as a handwritten signature if the method is sufficiently reliable.
